New EU legislation for deforestation-free supply chains
In today's global marketplace, ensuring the integrity of your agricultural supply chain is more important than ever. With the introduction of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), European companies are required to trace the origin of key agricultural goods to prove they are using deforestation-free products. The European Parliament and Council formally adopted the EUDR on June 29th, 2023. It will go into effect on December 30th, 2024. Regulatory compliance is mandatory for a range of raw materials including wood, rubber, palm oil, soy, beef, coffee, and cacao imported to the European Union.
